Welcome to the Guidance Department at Saraland High School. If you have questions or concerns please visit the counseling suite that is located on the Social Studies Hall in Room #106. We are always happy to see you. Our office is a safe place to get the help you need. If your assigned counselor is not available, you can always contact any counselor to help you. We work as a team and want to do what is best for all of our students. The Guidance Department provides an array of support services to students, parents, and staff. Counselors meet regularly with students to discuss academic needs, college and career readiness, and personal-social issues.
Mrs. Kim Zwierzynski
I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Political Science from Eastern New Mexico University. My graduate work was completed initially at Northern Arizona University and then additional coursework was completed at Azusa Pacific University. I have a specialist level degree in Educational Psychology with Certification as a School Psychologist and School Counselor.
I initially worked for 8 years in California and then moved "home" to Mississippi in 2005. I have worked along the MS Gulf Coast and Alabama Coast since that time, with the last 8 years with Ocean Springs School District, in Ocean Springs, MS. I have worked as a School Psychologist and as a Guidance Counselor over my 21 years in education.
I am originally from the MS Gulf Coast, but currently reside in Grand Bay. This is my first year at Saraland High School. I am very excited to be the Senior Guidance Counselor and part of the Spartan Nation! I have been married for 7 years and have a 16 year old cat named Simon. I collect Boyd's Bears and enjoy camping (in the fifth wheel), going to the beach, and am an avid reader.
